Climate Partnership of Russia Participated in Carbon Digital Conference 2024 in Jakarta



Anna Nakleskina, a representative of the Climate Partnership of Russia, participated in Carbon Digital Conference 2024 (CDC2024) – an international conference focused on carbon market development and digital technology implementation in the climate sphere, which took place on December 9-11 in Jakarta.


The large-scale event brought together participants from more than 50 countries, representing over 120 companies, institutions, and organizations. More than 75 speakers and moderators shared best practices and innovative solutions during thematic sessions covering key aspects of the climate agenda and digital transformation.


The event united innovative digital companies, carbon project developers, investors, and buyers of carbon units from around the world. Special attention at the conference was given to the integration of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things with the carbon market.


For the Climate Partnership of Russia, participation in the conference marked an important step in developing cooperation in Asian markets, which are of particular interest to Russian companies.


Anna Nakleskina delivered a keynote speech following the plenary session "Enhancing the Role of the Private Sector in Climate Action: Strengthening the Voluntary Carbon Market and Article 6." She presented the activities of the Partnership, which unites leading Russian companies in ESG and climate protection, and shared achievements in developing of the carbon market in Russia. To date, over 40 climate projects have been registered in the Russian Carbon Registry with a total potential of 84.7 million carbon units, of which 32.7 million are already in circulation. As an example of successful climate project implementation, she highlighted En+'s large-scale metallurgical segment project for aerial forest fire protection in the Krasnoyarsk Region, which received verification for 1.35 million carbon units.
