Energy efficiency improvement projects
RUSAL is implementing two climate projects in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk Region, registered in the Russian register of carbon units:
1. improving energy efficiency in the production of thermal energy at the Krasnogorsk CHPP of the Ural Aluminum Plant
2. Improving energy efficiency when treating raw water at the Krasnogorsk CHPP of the Ural Aluminum Plant
Projects include initiatives to improve the energy efficiency of the Krasnogorsk CHPP in the production of heat energy through the modernization of boiler burners, as well as in the preparation of raw water through the installation of new heat exchangers and a pump. The planned implementation period is 14 and 10 years, respectively.
A positive conclusion on the compliance of the project with the criteria for classifying projects as climatic (validation conclusion) was issued by the Regional Center for Validation and Verification of Environmental Reporting and Projects of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Ufa State Oil Technical University" on June 5, 2024.
