SIBUR-Khimprom JSC Climate Project
It involves reducing greenhouse gas emissions by changing the technology for the production of dioctyl terephthalate.

The climate project of SIBUR-Khimprom JSC provides for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions during the production of dioctyl terephthalate (DOTF) by changing the catalyst supply scheme. This reduced the specific consumption of natural gas per unit of production. DOTP is a phthalate-free environmental plasticizer that provides flexibility, increased strength, wear resistance of materials, is used in flooring and roofing, wallpaper, protective coatings in the automotive industry.
A positive conclusion on the compliance of the project with the criteria for classifying projects as climatic (validation conclusion) was issued by the greenhouse gas validation and verification body of the NP CIC CIS Association on June 23, 2023.
SIBUR has successfully validated the climate project implemented at SIBUR-Khimprom (Perm). The project received an unconditional positive conclusion of the validator for compliance with GOST R ISO 14064-3. This is the first SIBUR climate project registered in the Russian register of carbon units. As a result of validation carried out by the association "NP CIC CIS," SIBUR registered the climate project in the register of carbon units of the Russian Federation.
The analytical center of the fuel and energy complex under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation participated in the support of the project - from the joint search and selection of technological innovations that meet the criteria of the climate project with the company, to the formation of the project application and its validation. It is planned that the fuel and energy complex AC will support the project in terms of preparing reports on its implementation, accompany the verification process of reporting documentation and the release of carbon units.
